After many years of faithful service in the Florida heat, my 2009 Mazda's compressor died last month. I bought an A/C kit online with a new compressor, condenser, and expansion valve. I've since swapped out the compressor and condenser but I'm having trouble removing the expansion valve. I can get to it and remove the refrigerant lines from it, but the problem is that the lines are in the way. I'm reluctant to bend these lines for fear of damaging them. So I turn you, dear people of the internet. Should I just bend them, or is there some special technique for getting the expansion valve out?
