Engine wire haress connection issue

403 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  messupdude1
A squirrel ate the wire harness and I'm trying to figure out how to which of the two grey wires (from the bottom harness) that needs to be connected to the upper harness (that contains a grey and purple wire). I did a continuity check across the two grey wires in the bottom harness and they are not connected.

I'm considering hooking up one of the two grey wires from the bottom harness to the upper grey wire in the top harness...and hook up the rest of the wires and see what happens. If I get a warning then swap the two grey wires? Anyone have a serious issue with that?

The other alternative would be to tow it in and have that all the harnesses that are damaged replaced. I'd assume that will be quite expensive.
What year, model & engine is this Mazda? I used my 2015 Mazda3 sedan w/ 2.0L engine as a reference. Did the squirrel actually chew off the approximately 12" section of wiring harness between each end of open wiring and the connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor? I have gray, green & brown (viewed L-R) wires going to my connector on the pressure sensor. Unfortunately I do not want to unwrap or cut the insulation of my harness to determine where the other gray wire attaches.
Not sure if this will help but here's the wiring diagram that around the AC pressure sensor switch.
