Has anyone painted their engine covers? I figured it would be easier and less likely to fail than painting the valve cover. I wanted to add a personal touch without going too ricer so I stuck to a nice aluminum finish on the centerpiece and left the left and right sides original plastic and also left the emblem original chrome. I also hand-painted the SKYACTIV since it would be a real pain to spray paint. If anyone has done this yet on their Mazda I'm really curious to see what you did as far as color scheme. Thanks!

Looks good! I've been thinking about doing this just don't know what color (or colors) to do it in yet. ill post a pic soon hopefully.

Yes to your question. But I customized it a bit more. Still working on it. If you pop over top my thread you can find the project on my cover and see what I am doing.
