Apparently one of the places I had my car serviced at put metal valve stem caps on and as we know dissimilar metals corrode.

It caused my stem to corrode from the inside so when it was connected to the air hose it collapsed on itself. Had it been longer and the cap would have seized on the stem itself.

I had to get a new tpms installed for 125. I now have plastic caps on the others and hopefully stopped the problem before it got worse.

So learn from me and use plastic caps on your 3

not just corrode...during winter time, it gets stuck and it will be really hard to remove them. in worst case scenario: installing new tpms just like nizy1115

The plastic stock caps I had exploded.......maybe the dealer overfilled my tires, but their tops came clean off and were just dangling from a tiny edge.

A little smear of grease in each cap stops any corrosion or reation with diiferent metals.
