Hello All,

I'm sorry if this is a duplicate thread, but I couldn't find the information I'm looking for. I'm *not* looking for how to disable the safety lock on the Navigation System (there is a lot of information on that). Instead, I'd like to know how to disable the Navigation System entirely.

Background:

I'm looking at buying a used 2016 Mazda CX-5 (yes, this is a Mazda 3 forum, but the Mazda Tweaks people use this forum and are very knowledgeable). As I understand it, all CX-5s starting in 2016 have navigation hardware, but you have to turn it on with an SD card from the dealer. The car I'm looking at has an active navigation system with the SD card installed.

However, I find the idea of our car being tracked everywhere we go more than a little creepy. I turn off the GPS in my phone, unless I need turn by turn directions for this very reason. So, I'm looking for a way (preferably non-destructive) to disable the navigation system if we decide to buy the car.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Stephen
