Well Tuesday is here, and its time to pull back the curtains on my custom exhaust. I went for cheap, vibrant resonator, single exit, with a random used tip from the exhaust shop. Its still up on the hoist at the shop but its just about done. I will have exhaust clips posted this afternoon. I heard it briefly and it sounds really deep, might be a tad louder than I had been planning for, if that is the case I'll have to swap in a different resonator. But for now Im just going to be happy to have some noise lol.

First impressions, zomg its sooooooo deep LOVING IT.

Wow, that must be loud! At least you removed some weight :)
ive had exhausts twice as loud on previous cars, this is actually very tame. And yes good gawd that oem muffler is a monster, ive probably saved 10lbs doing this swap.

Just working now to find somewhere to upload the video so I can post it here, having issues with tinypic.

And YouTube it is

You know the more I drive it the more it sounds like an Evo10 exhaust, almost sounds boosted which is weird as shit.

I really wish Corksport would come out with a single pipe version paired with the OEM Hole cover that would be sweet.
I am far to lazy to get all the pieces and then get them fabed up. I would want something louder than stock and quieter then the Dual CS though.

Its super easy, grab a tip, grab a resonator, goto muffler shop, after its done pop by Mazda for the cover. I don't know if I will ever grab one for mine, I don't think I care enough to cover the other opening.

Let me revise/add to my thoughts, I don't think I would be able to blindly buy a resonator and get it all fab'd up with the hopes that it could sound good.
I would prefer to hear it first, get some feedback, etc before spending money on it. I like the one sided look.

My Evo X does not sound like that ;)

For DIY exhaust your sounds very good. :smile2:
I dunno, its not at all the usual 4cyl sound and the only other 4cyl i know of that sounds sorta like this is an Evo X.......I need some fly-by videos to help you hear what I mean.

In for a video on this because I can't justify $500-$750 just to basically change the sound of my vehicle when I have a hookup at a professional exhaust shop. I have two cherry bomb extremes laying around from an old build and I'm really tempted to just fab them up and throw them on to see how it all sounds.

My brother in law has an Evo X (and a hefty monthly payment along with insurance), so I'd like to see if this really does sound Evo X'y. Lol

There is no exhaust for our Mazda 3's that gain you anything fyi. I spent $250CND on this setup and it was done professionally at a shop locally. Exhaust videos tomorrow hopefully with take-off and fly-by.

Vibrant Performance ::.

That resonator and the rest was taken care of by the exhaust shop.
what did the shop charge you? I still need to listen to your vids but if its quieter then my CS Axle back i could justify it.
Quieter but still sounds better than stock i mean.

This has got my attention....... are you still running the stock resonator? 2 resonators? hell for 60 bucks this is worth a try and video sounds good so i can only imagine what it sounds like in person. Is the piping diameter for 2.0 and 2.5 different if so is it 2.25?
