Hi All,

I'm hoping that someone on this forum can help me solve my issue since it's very frustrating.

Issue:
When coming to a complete stop I can hear a creaking noise coming from the front driver side.

Sounds like a brake problem. Best guess would be a wrapped rotor as the noise comes and goes as you apply the brakes or there could be something caught in the caliper like a small stone. Have it checked out by a mechanic.

Sounds like the pad is hitting a bad spot in the rotor. Do you find the cars brakes pulsate when slowing down? How many KM's on the current set of pads/rotors? Regardless, have it checked out.

1st, check if your lugnuts are properly torqued.
Does this happen everytime you brake? If random, the ABS pump can create similar noises. It's a normal function if you did not pop the ABS light on the dash.
Do you get the shimmy upon pressing the pedal? This would mean warped rotors. Get rotor runout read. Reface or replace those warped beyond tolerance allowed.
What wheel set up are you on? Any wheel spacers? If so, make sure the wheels & spacers are hubcentric. The universal ones can cause noises.

Update 1:

Car is completely stock and it currently has 45000 kms (28,000 miles).

Brought it to a mechanic yesterday. The rear end links were the culprit since its rusted. They lubricated the end links as a temporary fix and it solved the problem for now. But, they recommended that it be replaced.

Hey @pmunar, I have the exact same problem on my mazda3 2015. After taking it to the mechanic, would you say the rear end links are the sole culprit? Did a replacement fix the issue entirely?

That's interesting. Thanks for following up, I wouldn't have guessed a suspension issue but then I can't exactly be there to hear it in person. Who knows, might not have guessed it even if I was there. Going to tuck that one away in my toolbox for sure.

You have a good mechanic. Stay with that one.
