Should be regular 60° cone seat lug nut, M12 x 1.5

Are you getting aftermarket or Mazda OEM?

Oh ok. I have Mcguards on my MX5 and just put a set on the 3. The smaller diameter keeps the lug wrench from galling up the well.

@arathol, following your suggestion, I researched McGard, and the black ones I found (# 84538) are 1.45" in length, compared to Mazda's standard 1" ones. I am using Mazda's 18" dark alloy wheels.

Please, did you find another McGard option that has shorter than 1.45" lug nuts, or are your's that length? If the latter, might you have a picture of them on your 17" wheels please?

The Mcguard 84538 is not a spline drive lug set, its just black chrome lugs that are similiar in size to standard lugs. They have a keyed lug on each tire like the ones Mazda puts on.

This is the one you want:
McGuard # 65357BK , and they are 1.25, not 1.45
Chrome/Black Cone Seat SplineDrive Lug Nut Set (M12 x 1.5 Thread Size) - Set of 4 Lug Nuts; Requires 65300 Installation Tool.

I don't think they come in any other size. I have those on the 3 and the MX5.
