I have had my car since February 2014 when they first arrived in Australia.
Now over the months as I wash my car every weekend without fail, I always chamois the excess water off and it dries to nothing (which is great).
But I have noticed in the sun that I can see water marks that have set on the paint and don't come off unless I serious buff them with a microfibre cloth which I fear will scratch the paintwork.

This is only noticeable in the sun but not in the shade which is annoying. I was wondering if anyone would know how I can remove it off the paint work so I can clean even finish without the water marks setting. I also have paint protection on the car done by Mazda that I have to take into consideration.

Thank you

i feel like the chamois will pick up water, but not much else.. i dry with big soft microfibers.. maybe they are able to absorb more of the impurities that cause water spots?

buy some quick detail spray if you're worried about scratching your paint when trying to buff the spots off.

If you use a little car wax on the area, do they go away?

I kinda wonder if maybe there were waterspots on the car when the dealer waxed it before selling it.

Is there any sort of detail spray that I can use here in Australia?

It was a brand new Mazda 3 that didn't even get to the show room, it came off the truck and I picked it up then which was great!

I was told to stay clear away from wax since I have paint protection which will void my warranty if I use any sort of wax :S

Ah, okay. It may have been when they applied the paint protection then. I'm not sure what kind of protection they applied, but it may have been applied while there were water spots on the car.

This. Dry with clean MF cloths, then hit it with some quick detail. Wax her at least once a year.

They may very well have applied the paint protection over the water spots. I have a few spots on my front bumper where they didn't quite get it completely clean so they sprayed the paint protection over little black spots.

My biggest pet peeve with the vehicle is that there are holes under the side mirrors which drip water after car washes....

You can dry the car and then an hour later you will have streaks and watermarks.

Wash, wash again, clay, rinse, lightly wet sand, wash, compound, wash, polish, wash, glaze (optional) wash, wax/seal. I actually spent 20 mins writing up a step by step how to do this all in one weekend, until the post failed to submit and when I clicked back it was all gone. Sometime in the next month I'll be compounding a friends car and will do a thorough tutorial on how to properly detail a vehicles exterior, including wet sand and buff, and covering the importance of proper chemicals, when to use which soap, and the importance of clean microfibers and washing them properly. All things that are typically overlooked by the majority of DIY car washers.

One of the things they pointed out when I bought my car last month is that they have a warranty on water spots or paint imperfections that come from underneath the paint. At least here in the US they require a water-based paint on all new cars, and apparently there's some imperfections occasionally with that. If you think this might be the problem, take it to Mazda.

Thats sounds terrible but I usually use detailed image how tos and they are pretty good. I think everyone should read proper ways to clean a car from detailed image. Not saying they are right but they know more than I with product recommendations.

I would use a cleaner wax apply it with a DA polisher, if you don't have one you can use a microfiber towel and rub vigorously, then remove after it hazes. OHH make sure you wash and clay the car first. If the cleaner wax isn't strong enough I would use megs ultimate polish with a dual action polisher.

Link to the cleaner wax. [ame]http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0002NYE5M/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1443460859&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=cleaner+wax&dpPl=1&dpID=41wr9w9U1dL&ref=plSrch[/ame]

Autogeekonline Auto Detailing Forum is a good detailing forums lots of info.

Here are some pics, my car had water spots and I polished them off with m205 and a microfiber cutting pad. The line in the middle are the waterspots.

Ohh. And dry your car with a microfiber towel and some quick detailer, aquawax is pretty good
