I don't see a sticky or a thread for people who don't like to take their car to the dealer or the morons at jiffylube for an oil change. Anybody?

It's easy! I changed mine on superbowl sunday
They have Youtube videos which would be more helpful to you, just search 'Mazda 3 oil change' and you will see a few for the 3rd gen.

Just remember to change the oil drain plug washer!

Here are some in a file that I keep. Haven't done it on mine yet. Elsewhere, I posted about using an extractor. Several have done so on the 3. Think I'll probably do the bottom drain for the 1st one and then do oil extraction. Don't save that much on a 3 because Mazda wrongly placed the oil filter underneath. The oil filter and drain plug seem right side by side through the small hatch that you remove. I've gotten spoiled over the last 32 years in being able to change oil and filers from the top on our German cars.

Detail, removing bottom pan, etc: https://syonyk.blogspot.com/2016/08/201420152016-skyactiv-mazda3-oil.html

Another one, better: https://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2014_Mazda_3_Touring_2.0L_4_Cyl._Sedan/oil/change_oil_and_oil_filter

This one is pretty good, too: Mazda Mazda3 Skyactiv-G 2.0L I4 Engine Oil Change & Filter Replacement Guide - 2012, 2013 & 2014 Model Years - Picture Illustrated Automotive Maintenance DIY Instructions
