2012 MZ3 skyactive sat for 2 days in sub freezing temps. started it up and moved it briefly to clear parking space and then moved it back. Next day (still below freezing) won't start. engine cranked and battery was not dead but engine would not start. Couple days later, temp comes back above freezing and the car starts. Took the car into the stealership for 15,000 mile service. They said they would look at it. Found nothing but recommended ECU update for about $150. When asked what it did they couldn't tell me. Said it may have nothing to do with the car not starting, which they attributed to bad gas. Anyone think this could have to do with HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP TSB? Bad gas? Also, what is in the ECU update and is it worth the money?

You car is under warranty. They shouldn't be charging you for an ecu update. Report them to Mazda corporate. Mazda will rip them a new one for trying that.
