I have a base model 2012 mazda3 and I noticed that the right screen on the dash has what looks like would be climate controls. I am assuming it is harder then just taking out old climate control panel and putting the panel for dual climate controls in. Does anyone know? Or has anyone done this before? I tried looking if anyone has done it before and I couldn’t find anything.

I assume you would need some sort of wiring adapter along with the dual climate control. My only concern would be if the car can discern the difference between the two and use all the functions without an issue. I believe in previous generation Mazda models you could swap between the two(auto and manual AC) as long as you had the parts from the donor car. I'm sure it's possible, but I'm not sure what else would have to be swapped!

I looked into it a long time ago, there are sensors missing, the wiring is completely different and other things that made me give up. On top of the parts needing to be installed, if I remember correctly, the work done to the heater core needed to get the swap done pretty much required the heater core to be removed, and to cap it all of I wasn't sure if the openings for the various parts were going to be in the my core.
