Considering Mazda is most likely never getting their act together, I’m asking the community for help.

There’s this USB stick that can give any android device CarPlay. It’s called ZBox.

https://m.alibaba.com/product/60700401799/OEM-Carplay-USB-Dongle-ZBOX-for.html?subject=OEM--Carplay--USB--Dongle--ZBOX--for&detailId=60700401799&redirect=1

This stick does something to authenticate CarPlay through an app by the same name that the supplier makes available here.

The code for this thing is Java script. It’s just an android app. Our cars are built on Linux. Both are Unix based OSes. All our built in apps are also JavaScript so while the task is far above me, it isn’t impossible.

This community got android auto working perfectly. Please help the people on the other side of the pond. Help us where Mazda never will. Please help us get CarPlay.

Android and Linux are not even remotely similar, except that they use (almost) the same kernel. Android apps are not made with Javascript, they're usually made with Java (a totally unrelated language), and sometimes Kotlin, C++, or C#.

Huh?

Android is as much Linux as any other distribution. To say Android isn’t Linux makes as much sense as saying Ubuntu isn’t Linux.
