I've just bought a 2013 sport ; 50k miles which was previously a rental.

I'm a noob and this might seem obvious but can I trust that this car was given basic maintenance? I know it's sort of a 50/50 when it comes to rentals but I'm under the impression that the previous rental company nor the dealer I bought it from used quality transmission fluid, oil, etc...

So, should I go ahead and get an oil change and do a bunch of other maintenance now even though it's not scheduled for it yet?

If you have no other information to go on, my answer is yes. Not sure what "a bunch of other maintenance" means, but if it's routine stuff that should have been done by this mileage, and you have no evidence it was done, I'd do it.
