Hey guys!
I'm planning on beefing up my sound system in my 2011 3, which currently has the stock 10 speaker Bose system. I've already ordered a Skar dual 12" sub kit, but would also like to replace the lower door woofers and the tweeters to something a bit more powerful to match the subs. According to Crutchfield, I should be able to fit in the Hertz K130 5.25 speaker set that also comes with tweeters. These have a peak RMS at 55w, which is over double the stock Bose speakers, so I was planning on adding a JBL A6004 to power them. I have a wiring diagram for the wires going into the bose amp so I'm wondering: can I simply splice the inputs and outputs coming from the stock bose harness for just those specific speakers and route them through the aftermarket amp while retaining my other speakers in their stock form? I also have an aftermarket head unit with a built in 10-channel EQ so I don't really need the Bose presets.
