I have the 2016 Mazda 3 GS (Middle tier 2.0 sedan) and it seems to me when I put more force on brakes when nearing a stop it seems to slip.

Normal driving is fine but when I am a little more aggressive about 20km/h to 0 hard braking seems either the brakes lock up or poor tire traction
I have the original tires Bridgestone ECOPIA EP422 PLUS

I am wondering if the weakpoint is the tires or the brakes or maybe something else? Anyone with similar experiece with 2014+ models?

If your brakes can lockup your tires then the limiting factor is tires. Once you can no longer lock up your tires under the hardest braking then upgrade your brakes.
