I've been reading the forums for a while now and finally decided to make an account. I've searched and watched videos but haven't quite found what I'm looking for. I'm sure the answer already exists as this site is huge, so hopefully someone can offer a link. Apologies in advance for a possible duplicate post.

Mine is a 2015 Mazda3 Touring Hatchback AT. I've already installed:
  • BlackVue DR900X-2CH Plus Dashcam (Front & Rear) connected to:
    • BlackVue Ultra Battery Bundle (2 x Batteries under driver seat) hardwired to Accessory Socket fuse (tap #5 I think) by the pedals
    • and a BlackVue LTE Connectivity Module
I had a DroneMobile DR6400 Remote Start hardwired to an engine fuse tap by a pro shop.

Everything works great, but when I remote start my car, the BlackVue battery does not charge until I put my foot on the brake. I'm pretty sure this is because the fuses that are live are limited when it's in remote start mode. Obviously the HVAC all works in remote start mode. The parking lights are on, interior lights work, and the stereo and display are disabled.

I have a short commute so I'm not quite getting a full charge on the dash cam batteries and I'd like for it to charge when I remote start it before and after work.

My question is, what fuse do I need to tap for the BlackVue batteries to charge in remote start mode? And what I'm most interested in is: If it has to be an engine fuse, how do I run a wire from the engine fuse box to the interior cabin? Where is the access portal/hole between the two compartments?

Thank you!

I found that by removing the battery on my 2015, there is a rubber grommet in the firewall that can be holed for insertion of wires. On the other side of the firewall, there is a similar grommet. I was able to snake wires through them.

This is very helpful as I did not know what to call the panel between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment. This should make searching for more info easier.
