I have a 2015 Mazda3. In 2017, the battery was replaced under warranty. Now, the battery might be failing again. If it fails, would it be changed under warranty again? or because I'm past the original 3 years warranty, they won't warranty the replacement battery?

Probably not covered. Batteries here in Thailand are only warrantied for one year. The heat here is terrible on batteries. We open up the hood or bonnet as the English call it to dissipate the heat when we get home. Get a gel battery as it not effected by temperature change. Funny thing here is maintenance free batteries do not do well as it is so hot they loose fluid due to evaporation as they have breather holes. Good old add water batteries do better as you can keep them topped off. As a side note I run my car a/c all year except for maybe a couple weeks in "winter".

Thanks for the answers. I think my half mile commute to work is hard on the battery. Maybe it doesn't recharge enough. My battery might be OK for the moment. I left the hazards on and after a little over an hour I couldn't start the car. I expected that it should hold more charge being a little over one year old, but maybe that's normal. Anyway, when I change it, it won't be one of the dealer batteries, since they don't seem great. That X2Power looks great. 60 months warranty!!! I wish it were a little cheaper. It's going to be a hard decision when I finally need to replace mine.

It won't matter on which brand of battery purchased. A 1/2 mile drive wont be able to charge a battery to full, but a trickle charger would be better.

If your commute is half a mile, you really shouldn't be driving. Just get a bike or walk and drive the car on the weekends.

Thanks for the comment. I know is a short distance for the battery, but I use the car for other longer drives too. I might discharge it a little when commuting, and fully recharge it every few days. I'm thinking that an AGM battery might help, since it has lower electrical resistance and recharges faster. Also, I could use a battery with a longer warranty.
