I have a 2017 Mazda 3 GT. I recently got the Apple CarPlay update installed but I have problems with the audio cutting out in the left speaker for about 20 seconds. This occurs every five minutes or so. I took it back to the dealer and they can’t fix it, They are telling me that the problem is likely because I am using an iPhone X and that iPhone Xs are not-supported.

I am wondering if anyone else is using iPhone X running 12.1.2 and CarPlay. Curious to know if you are having any problems or not. By the way I have tried different cables and different phones. I’ve also tried turning off Bluetooth which was a suggestion. None of this works the problem persists .

Thanks

Android Auto has the same behaviour during navigation using either Waze or Google Maps, so it looks pretty consistent, and is most likely a feature, not a bug :)

I wonder, whether the UK or Australian cars have this cutting in the right (driver's) speaker instead?

Yup, same effect here in the UK where it goes quiet on the right speaker. Sounds like one of the apps is running but the volume is turned down on the nav.... it will have the same effect

I have the same problem with my new Mazda 6 GT, 2019. Is there anyone who fixed the problem? I tried different cables, and phones. Navi was disabled. Radio works perfect, Bluethooth also works great, only when connect my Phone with cable left speakers starts to cut out.
I also drive VW Passat with the Carplay, no issue at all. Seems like Mazda has some technical problems.

Hello, i just got my new 2019 mazda cx9. I also have the same problem. The radio and Bluetooth are both work great! Only when i use carplay by connecting my iphone XR with original cable, the left speaker cut out every few seconds and back to normal again. Hope the mazda dealer will find out the reason and fix it!

When the audio cuts out and you immediately increase the volume while it’s still not playing , what’s the icon shown? For me there’s a Navi icon and I can change the volume of the navigation that way, not of the music.

I have a Mazda 3 2019, Appleplay quite newly installed. Sound fine for a while but now I can hardly hear the voice while driving. I have volume on my iPhone right up, but still not working properly. I will take it back to see what they can do.

Same problem here on my 2018 mazda6 in Apple Carplay, when I mute the navigation or not using the navigation at all. the sound of the driver side speaker got cut out, music also stoped for a hot second. Happens every 4~5 seconds or so.

another issue I have is when I'm not using Nav apps, the driverside speaker got cut out when I approaching an intersection, turning to another street, etc. the timing of the muting sounds like "navigation notification" to me but I have no idea why that happened when I have not used Nav system nor Nav apps.
