My 2011 Mazda 3 has over 115,000 miles now.

I went to go drain and refill my transmission fluid but I can't remove the damn skid plate under it because several of the metal nuts are rusted entirely. I managed to rip up the plastic around one of the nuts and stopped at that.

Any advice? Are there any products that can help loosen up these rusted nuts?

I might just rip the whole damn thing off then buy a new one, drill some holes myself and ziptie it but I'd like to hear a 2nd opinion on it before I do that because it sounds like a mess.

Liquid wrench and a 6 pt deep impact socket.

A metal wire bristled brush to scrub off some rust to get a better fit with the impact socket may help.

I normally spray the Liquid Wrench onto every nut and bolt and let it soak in overnight. Get to work on them in the morning and things go real fast that way.

Yep, that or PB Blaster. Impact wrench for the win!

Once you get the bolts off, take one down to an Ace Hardware and buy stainless steel replacement ones, or the black oxide bolts might be ok too.
