Does anyone know how to positively identify a replacement fob that will work with my 2015 Mz3 hatchback? Which of the numbers on the key are critical? I've found several fobs with the same FCC and model numbers, but there are 4 rows of numbers above the FCC number I can never match. (The attachment is a picture of the fob showing the numbers.)

Also, does anyone know if a used key is programmable?

thanks,

hans

Try carandtruckremotes.com or eBay for explanation on how to find the correct remote. The answer to your last question is yes but make sure you take all of your remotes with you to the locksmith when programming as they have to have them all.

I bought a used key on Ebay that had all the correct numbers. If the dealer won't program it you owe me $20.

The ultimate goal is to bust it apart and reassemble it into something thin enough to fit in my wallet. No more keys for me!

The keyword I used was "locksmith". I can't speak to the dealership as they all have different policies on the subject of programming the keyless entry.
