Are the fog lights prewired? U-tube shows installing on 2015 Only need kit and switch. Anyone know if fog lights are different from the 2016? Couldn't get them at time of ordering and dealer said I could get them at dealer cost when available but not sure if I want to spend that amount of $$$ if installation is easy and Spyder lights fit as OEM.

The fog lights themselves are different than the 16 (LED vs Halogen, different size, etc.) however I can't comment on whether the car is pre-wired or what else is required in an otherwise non-equipped car.

The fog light switch is in the turn signal stalk which is similar to the 16's I believe. It may be best to confirm with the dealer's service department.

The wiring harness *usually* is in place and you would just need the components at either end to make it work. Not positive, but it is a Mazda tradition of sorts.

Sent from a Samsung that doesn't explode.

I've just done some research here since I'm considering installing fog lights for my 2017.

Med Center Mazda, an online dealer that I bought my M3 floor and cargo mats from, sells the 2017 OEM LED kit (which includes the stalk switch and the lights) for $314 (including shipping): mazdaparts.org/mazda-3-fog-lamp-led.html

The part numbers:
Stalk switch: BALN66122
Lights: BALWV4600

This seems like a fair deal for the kit, you could save a few bucks by goin elsewhere but Med Center seems like a legit business so I'll stick with them.

I was also looking for high-quality non-OEM options, but can't find any. Some talk about MORIMOTO's LED and people seemed to like them, but they are apparently no longer available, see last pages: mazda3revolution.com/forums/2014-2016-mazda-3-skyactiv-how-guides/104482-installing-morimoto-mazda-type-z-led-fog-lights-5.html

I've seen mixed reviews of the Spyder fogs, and iJDMTOY seems to be doing pretty well on Amazon reviews. Seems like an open question whether or not they actually help, but those who've been able to adjust and focus them say that helps a ton.

Hi. I checked and my 2017 3i touring is prewired, there are 3 things you need :
- Stalk switch
- Fog lights
- Plastic covers
There is no need for programming the ecu.
I already have the stalk, lights arrived today but i still need the plastic covers, does anyone have the part number of these plastic covers?
I will take pictures or video of the install when i do it.
Thanks

I haven't pulled the trigger on these yet. The best price I have found for both parts using Dr Google is $283, but that's buying each part from different sources. Doesn't look like a huge PITA. Looking at the Mazda installation instructions the cover come in the fog light kit.

I would love to post the instructions, but don't have the time to commit to the posting requirements of this forum. You guys are pretty intense when it come to security, passwords requirements and the like. Maybe this is a requirement these days with bots and such. Leaves us casual, working stiff, family types out due to time constraints.

Does the 2017 3's still use H11 connectors for the fogs? I know the 2016 uses H11 bulbs for the fogs and the 2017 are LEDs which is a sealed unit. I'm trying to install aftermarket fogs on my 2017 M3 Sport and would like to be able to use the pre-wired connection so I can buy a turn signal stalk with foglight switch and use that.

Bumping this old thread since it's the exact question I want to know. Anyone know if the 17-18 fogs use an H11 connector?

Maybe?

I am trying to install a set of switchback LED bulbs in the stock turn signal indicator location (lit white when not flashing amber for turn signal/hazards). I wanted to wire the lead for the switchback into the factory wiring harness for the fog lights so that I could use a factory turn signal stalk w/ fog light controls to turn them on and off.

Long story short, I pulled the fog light harness off of the blank placeholder, and it is NOT a H11 connector. It looks more like a Y47CX connector from what I can gather. This would require a Y48CX complimentary plug.

This forum won't let me post a link or image, but if you google "Findpigtails.com Y47CX" you should find it right away.

I am going to order a Y48CX wiring harness and see if it matches. Will confirm!
