Hi guys,

I have about 1000 miles on my 2017 Mazda 3 2.5 with an automatic transmission. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed a rough or slight delayed shift into 5th gear? All other gears shift butter smooth just not 5th gear. The rough 5th gear shift under normal acceleration occurred between 30 to 40 mph. I have checked the transmission fluid with the car running and it is full.Thanks

Back to the dealership for them to checkout, is the only way to be sure that there isn't something wrong with it. Better to be safe than sorry.

I think I'm in 2nd gear between 30 & 40 mph. Has to do with the weight of my right foot.

I was thinking the same - don't think I've ever been in 5th between 30 and 40 mph:wink2:. In any case, I haven't noticed any such behavior.

Did you ever find out the solution? What did the dealership tell you about this issue?

I was just looking through the manual, and it recommends a minimum of 39mph when shifting from 4th to 5th gear. Maybe that's why it felt rough. Does this roughness occur at higher speeds?
