Hi guys

Here to share my study and retrofit of led headlight on mazda 3 hatachback.

After a lot of research on this forum and internet, can not find the 2017 2018 facelift headlight diagram, so I paid the inscription on mazda 3 USA official website, it's identically to the 2014 service manual already posted on the forum.

The service manual only gave few info., the most important is there is no info. about the plug on car side, and the color management is totally different lol....

Here is PDF of pin definition of both headlight type after testing my study.

Rear View: eye on cable side
Front View: eye on plug side
*these also cost me some time to understand.

Test Parking Light

Test DRL light ( in this case, the DRL will light up both led halo/strip and low beam(only 14w)

Test Lo/Hi Beam function

The result of retrofit (DRL power by ACC)

I will keep updating all the retrofit process, stay tuned

What are the part numbers for your headlight? I’m looking to swap my halogen assembly to the GT LED assembly. I don’t care about having the adaptive/auto leveling features as my 2018 sport trim wouldn’t even support it. I’m just confused when I see two options/part numbers on some websites.

it was my understanding that the GT headlights were the only ones that had the adaptive leveling lamps, but here it shows an LED option without them, which seems like the best option for me. Are these for sure the GT “eagle eye” lamps as well?

Have you made any new headway on this? I’m really wanting to do this to my 18 hatch sport and I have next to zero experience in this department.

as awesome as those lights look, given your level of experience maybe just replacing the bulbs would be a better option? i did all mine and very happy. high, low and fogs. ijdmtoy.com. you'll need the R1 wiring harness to retain proper DRL function. very easy to install.

Even with the harness, aren’t LEDs for the high beam/DRL reflector bad?
