Hello everyone I hope I have come to right place. This is my first post and thread but I hope to add to the community as I dig into this recent purchase. :smile2:
I have discovered conflicting information as to how I can bring this model to the beloved Android Auto support. So far I can ascertain the following (please correct me where I am wrong ). Considering the 2014-15 has top of dash style navigation systems/lack there of as in my case with a GX. So as I am to understand it my top of the dash navi system is very limited.
In fact all the most desired navi systems that people have today come in "din" standard of some sort with a "double din" of course providing the most available capacity on the market at any available aftermarket standard. Or at least that how I am aware of this market functioning.
Now because I really want to change my navi system as I full-on hate the thing. Money, time and skill are not the obstacles for me atm. I merely need to know what I can do and which options are futile endeavors.
We all agree I still have options correct? Here are the ones that I can identify, please respond with more and/or better options if they are indeed available. For me and anyone else in this dilemma. Keeping mind that perhaps there are newer choices available today in 2018 that you might not be aware of.
1) I can purchase a factory Mazda 3 Information Display Screen : PN : Bhp1 61 1j0d
like this present ebay listing for 274 including the console control module for a 2016.
can't post links yet
What other components are needed to bring the navigation console to to the gx if any as seen in this picture so I don't have to rip everything apart to see I have to order other parts in addition too the BHP1-61-1J0D i'm dying to know.
Can't post links yet.
Also I might need to know more conclusively if indeed this is the best Android Auto option today as I was reading this week that it may finally be ready for RETROACTIVE upgrade which should include such a mod that I would have done with a firmware update.
2) Use the Seicane s30940 (are there others their site makes it look like there are?) that is also seemingly hard to get your hands on today due to stock issues?! Although it would seem that this model would have less support and more glitchy interface including many extra features such as dashcam, dvr,sd card, Tire Pressure Monitoring, OBD and other quickly produced and perhaps a glitchy interface? With only MHL screen mirroring for android auto draining the battery on most phones extremely quickly? This btw is only what I suspect evidence would be needed to conclude this. Please anyone pipe up on that one.
3) UBER generic brand CarNaviPlayer .com ?!? Seriously, well I guess so as there is nothing else anyone know about this ?
Can't post links yet
*4) An unknown or even fully original startup option (dreaming i'm sure).
*5) My favorite option MOVE THE bloody Thermo/A/C fan Component and get Double Din... Likely full on impossible but I would try it if someone had even a brief guide and a nod that it can be done. From one of the greats on the forum : 0
:x
*- denotes likely impossible :wink2:
Thanks to anyone who wants help.
