Dear friends and experts,

My 2014 Mazda3 GT has engine light on after 3.5 years which has passed the 3 years warranty. And it is within/under 5 years and 100,000KM.

Went to dealer and they said there is Carbon built inside the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve) and Intake Manifold Valves. And also they said my Mass Air Flow Sensor had problem (I still doubt about this one). Need to replace PCV valve and Air Flow Sensor and clean the carbon.

My question is since PCV valve is inside the engine, should 5 years engine power-train warranty cover this? Plea. se help!!! Mazda Canada reject me and said it is not covered under Powertrain warranty. I need experts help. Thanks you a million ----------Dan

PCV valve ($15 external part) is in front of the engine, which required removing the intake manifold. Mass air flow is easy to replace.
