Hey guys,

Looking to simply upgrade the quality of the bulbs in my halogen headlights. I've dabbled in more extreme upgrades in other vehicles are owned, but alas, I don't have the patience for that anymore.

After reading, it looks like I'm hunting for 9005 (High Beam) and H11 (Low Beam). What I'm trying to achieve is a straight swap with no harness or craziness while still obtaining a crisper look like 5000Ks and better spread of light.

As of now, I'm utterly disappointed with the headlights. Any advice? There are plenty of options on Amazon and online, but I really trust your opinions.

Looking at these for the High Beams.

And these for the low.

PS: I have read as many threads as I can, but they are all mostly interested in upgrading the halogen bulbs to HID, which I believe is an attempt to bring the headlights on-par with S-Touring and S-Grand Touring trims.

I have the same model and bought the same bulbs.

If you want 5000K you'll be disappointed with these. They are whiter but not quite white.

You can go with DiamondVision by Philips. It's close to 5000K. You will get the color but not the life or spread.

My current setup is DiamondVision for HB/DRL. I'm still in the market for LB and on fence between HID or LED.

Generally with the tinted bulbs you don't get as good of output or as far light throw. I was running Philips Xtreme Visions for a while and they were definitely an upgrade to the stock lights.

I much more recently did a swap from H11 to H9 bulbs, they only come in the "standard" configuration but they put out far more usable light. My 9005's I swapped to 9011's, same idea came only in a "standard" configuration but noticeably cooler in color and higher output.

I got both sets of bulbs off rockauto.com, with everything about 30 dollars overall. I got GM OEM AC Delco H9's and Philips Standard. It was a simple swap and only needed slight modification to the bulb clips. Took about 15 minutes to do all 4 bulbs with a pair of snips and a razor blade.

It was an immediate difference and worlds better than even the Xtreme Vision bulbs, which I put into my fog lights. Waste not, want not.

Below is the guide I followed and a good general breakdown even if you don't want to put in the H9/9011 combo.

Looks like rockauto is having a closeout on the Philips 9011's for about 2 bucks a piece and the AC Delco's are 6 bucks. Worth the try for those kinda clams.
