allot of people saying overfilling your oil can damage your engine, the dealer I got it from added 5L instead of 4.2L to 4.3 depending on what the manual says, and told me it should be fine since the skyactive engines where made to handle it, I want the honest truth from you guys.. should I go to one of my local garages and just drain it and put 4.2L in it? I really dont wanna fry my engine and end up with no car.

I would get the excess removed ..
100-200 ml more is ok
Even if the dealer says it ok ...what if you blow something. Will the dealer own up to it that he added 5 L not 4.2

Saying this or that is one thing, what does your dipstick look like when cold?
Bobistheoilguy's crowd would definitely say grossly overfilling is an issue.
Is it documented on paper that they grossly overfilled?

I took it to my local mechanic and he says its just a tad over the dipstick full mark, which hes saying would be 500ml give or take

I wouldn't worry about a tad. But if your concerned I've removed excess engine oil in the past with a gadget like this:
