Hi guys, new first-time Mazda owner here.
I recently purchased a 2011 Mazda 3 (Axela Sport) with skyactiv and i-stop. I've seen 2 types of engines and battery setups with the i-stop system. The MZR I tested first had 2 batteries, a small and a large one whereas the one I bought (skyactiv) has just one. Now the dealer replaced the battery with an ACdelco 35A 500CCA but I'm wondering if that's a correct replacement. I-stop doesn't work and is flashing amber. I tried the reset but get a brief green flash and then starts flashing amber again. Looks like wrong battery? Also the amber wrench icon is lit, tried clearing that by going in the maintenance menus and set all 3 to off but it still stays lit. Anyone know what might be the issue? The dealer did a service before delivering the car (oil, oil filter and air filter) so I'm wondering if they did something wrong or maybe didn't plugin something (just saying). Also tried clearing that with the trip dial knob trick but still the same.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated. I'm going to the dealer anyway next week when I'm back home to have them take a look at it, but would like to point out to them that the car NEEDS another battery if that's really the case.
Thanks in advance,
Arvin
