I'd guess you can pry that little cover up to reveal a button. It'll override your shift interlock in case of a dead battery. It allows you to shift from park to neutral without the car being powered on. I don't know for sure on the Mazda 3, that's just what's common on automatics.
Oh i see... thx. I have always been driving a manual, no wonder have no idea lol
