Hello all,

I'm looking to buy 2011 or 2010 Mazda3 s GT Hatch manual. Is there anything I should look out for? Is the clutch still an issue? The clutch issue is the only thing really holding me back.

There's a 2010 with 54k miles and a 2011 with 24k miles.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

get the 2011 with 24k miles if the price is right.

you'll be happy with the 2.5, and it responds well to mods.

I bought a 2010 3s GT 6MT used with about 35k miles. Clutch is good. Everything on it is good. Minus the dealership improperly installing my rear brakes. But car wise, I'm 10k in and everything is solid.

Oh dude get the 2010 then. 19500 was practically NEW price. they are worth 14k$ at best right now. 19.5 is a ripoff

my 2010 has 86000 miles on the original clutch, starting to show age but its still good.

Be gentle and do your maintenance and she'll be fine.

*Bleed the clutch at the same time with brakes, the bleeder is near the oil filter. It uses the same reservoir as the brake fluid. have competent folks do it.

I should mention the 2011 has tech package and navigation. 2010 has tech package.
I'd start with curb rash, then interior find out which car is driven modestly. Sometimes the package means nothing if the previous driver drove it like a rental.

- After market GPS is way better
- Speakers can be installed for cheap.
- Leather can be bought and installed.

BUT, if you are a guy that watches resell value, then 2011 is the better choice.

go for the 2010 if you can't get the 2011 price to budge.

Get the 2010, the navigation is crap and the screen is small as hell. a good garmin will do better.

Lets say this, I'd sell my 2011 turbo 2.5L with about 5k$+ in parts and I'd only ask 18.5k$ with 39k miles.. so 19.5 is a rip

also Jmaister no reason to be randomly bleeding brakes if you don't need to.

oh yah, of course not, just umm, be nice to the clutch. I still have no idea where these clutch problems come from, never heard of it. 6sp population is Canada is really low I suppose.

One of the reason I'm switching over to a Mazda3 is for reliability and better MPG. Hoping I can get a good price on one.

where are you located? I drove 8 hrs to S. Florida from N. Florida to save a couple grand. The market you're shopping in makes a huge difference. My 2010 had 33k when I got it, GT plus tech and nav and all the goodies - $16k out the door. Would have been right up at $20k in Tallahassee where I live. 8 hrs to save 4k is worth it. Plus you get the joy of driving your "new" car for 500 miles which is a great place to learn all about it.

In fact, there was a base 2010 2.0 sedan with 30k miles on it on sale here in town for $16,500 at the time we purchased our 3...

My 6 speed 2010 GT Hatch has 88k km, just bought it a little over a month ago. Clutch is fine and has never been replaced. However this is my first manual car, so I don't have much to compare it to...
