Hey I'm sure they're is many threads out there with swap options for the Mazda 3. But for me I need clarification as to which engine can fit perfectly and has more horsepower and something I can build up as well. I wanted to put a turbo onto my current engine but upon reading many threads that wouldn't be wise lol. So my problem is that many threads only focus on the speed3 and those cars are nice and all but I have a sedan not a speed3. So this is where clarification is needed for me. All help is very much indeed appreciated. I know for other swaps out there you can buy swap kits but I'd take it that doesn't exist for this Mazda? I hear fusion engine and duratec and Miata engines but too confusing as too which options would give me the best horsepower and torque. I am trying to build a beast. for a sedan that is not speed3 which everyone does.

You might want to head to the First Gen Performance/Mods forum. Loads of swap information there with knowledgeable people. A few of us are trying to get the mods to organized these forums with an index to builds and other useful information.

Yep, many threads already exist. I have no interest in a new one. Feel free to join us at one of these:

2006 MZ3 sedan Engine swapp
This one is for the typical 2.5L Duratec engine swap to give ~170hp/~170ft-lbs torque.

Engine Swap Idea -- Let's Brainstorm
This one is for wilder ideas, but people have to do actual research to find stuff that works. It is possible to build a NA 2.5L engine with about 200hp without going too crazy. More than that and you'd have to really build the internals to be special. Then there are turbo options.

I'm trying to put more information into the 2nd thread, because I'm really interested in something with more punch. You may want to read the Miata threads. Those guys don't mind spending $10k, $20k, or whatever to build their 300+ hp engines. The Miata guys are putting Duratec engines into their cars. No one is putting Miata engines into anything, just FYI.

Do you have a budget in mind?

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
