I have read a lot of posts here about Mazda possibly releasing a turbo charged engine but have any of you heard anything about a supercharged one?

I read something but I was not able to really dig into it. I will try to find it again and see if there is something to it. Thanks @arathol!

No, I don't think that's what they were referring to. I know that one has what they call a "light supercharger" and why they don't want people to associate it with traditional blowers of old. I'll have to try to find it.

Lol. I wasn't saying that I wanted to retrofit a blower to my engine... I was just asking if someone else had heard/read a rumor about Mazda doing it.

Uh, no....not myth busted.....confirmed to work by Motor Trend TV in fact....

Proven results using leaf blowers-
It took 5, not 1, and a whole shit load of other things done to get the air there. Not a simple "throw one on". In retrospect, on a newer EFI motor it might get better results than that tired POS. Even on Mighty Car Mods, it took 2 to get any noticable amount, but like they pointed out, its only moving air, not compressing it which is where the power gains would come from.

No, you didnt.

If you talking about Mazda 3 going turbo charged then this will be coming soon and will hopefully trickle down into other models or has already started .
2020 Mazda3 TCR Race Car Debuts With 350 HP And Big Wing ...hopefully a street legal to come soon after.

For those increased to swap out their 2.3L with a properly rebuilt check these :

For those MX5 Miata's looking to add a turbo kit or Supercharge their 2.0L NC or ND have a look here:

I installed xero limit Stage 1.5 cams in my 2.0L Mazda 3 engine :
Xero Limit NC MX5 MZR/Duratec Custom Cams .... these will work on the MZR 2.0L, 2.3L & 2.5L NA engines.

No, not going to happen any time soon. In fact the TCR has been delayed intil 2021.....there is a long discussion about it here somewhere.....

The NC and the ND have different engines, not cross compatible. All that stuff if for the MZR engine in the NC.

Correct ND is different ....not much internals for ND at XeroLimit just simple intake/exhaust upgrades.
BBRGTI you can get ideas on how they turbo the ND and cams for the skyactiv 2.0L and other internals for the skyactiv platform.

Skyativ cams
BBR Cams for the ND won't fit the Mazda 3 either.....You need the cams specifically for the Mazda 3 Skyactive motor. They are available, just not cross compatible.
