I can't find a guide or even a picture with the location of the EGR valve. I'm having intermittent long crank problems and saw that some people fixed it by cleaning the EGR. I've changed the spark plug, the battery is new. Ordering a new MAF sensor is this doesn't work because I've already cleaned it. Any help or guides on the gen 3 EGR valve cleaning would be very helpful
Thanks!

Doesn't seem like it has a physical EGR but it's there any way to check or clean whatever it uses? I already got the throttle body and intake system cleaned so besides the MAF I have no idea what else could be causing the long crank and the Mazda stealership couldn't find the problem either

Put in brand new ngk laser iridium spark plugs a couple days ago thinking the same thing and the battery is good. It starts up great after the initial start I can turn it off and back on and it starts like a dream so I don't think it's the battery.

No warranty. Even if it was I already took it to Mazda and paid for a diag and they couldn't find the problem. Cleaned throttle bottle and injectors though. The crazy thing is that the service manager says that he hasn't seen or heard of a single gen 3 with this problem and although it points to a fuel problem that it is keeping prime and has good pressure. I'll check the coolant temp sensor thanks for the tip. It does seem to be hotter than it should sheet driving but we have had a couple 100 degree days here in Georgia. Seems like the hotter it is outside the more often it long cranks but still always starts up if I turn it off and crank again
