I'm planning on swapping a ford branded 2.5 into my 2004 2.3 hatch. That's well documented now, so I'm not too worried about it. However, all the swaps I've seen documented used an engine from a 10-12 fusion. The are some really good deals right now on very low mileage engines from the 13-16 fusion. I've checked the specs and can't find any reference to any changes in the engine between generations, but there certainly could be some small things that might throw a wrench in the works. Does anyone know of a swap being done with one of these newer engines?

Im not sure about the differences on those engines, however, I do know that the 2.3L engine changed after 2010(ecoboost 2008 block will fit but im not sure if turbo will fit too). It may be worth a trip to a lot that has one a 13-16 2.5L to get measurements and mount locations for a comparison.

I have a 06 model with a 2015 fusion. Bassicly any 2.5 ford non ecoboost will work just fine.

Beautiful... yeah im going to start shopping fot one this weekend. 100k miles is max , but goal is a 50 to 70k mile motor. Theres one up in my area on ebay with 6k for $809 !!! Midrange 50k to 80k go for $300 to $600. And high mileage over 100k go for as low as $250.00 ... insane lol if still available im going to go for the 6k mile motor.
How many miles was on your donor vehicle from the 2.5L? What would be your maximum-mileage be on a used engine to purchase?
