Hey everyone this afternoon I felt like checking out my intake valves for carbon and soot buildup as I hand scrubbed them 10,000 miles ago at 50k (you can find these images on page 2). I was pretty surprised to see a moderate amount of carbon build up on the right most valves and quite a bit of...

Hallo, I've got a 2.0 and I want to install a oil catch can to prevent the carbon build up. Do I also need to block off EGR or not ? Which hose do I need for the PCV system ? 3/8 , AN-6 or something else ? Did someone of you this mod ? Regards, Felix

At corksport DOT com/corksport-skyactiv-aluminum-oil-catch-can.html (can't post links yet) I see that this would grab anything heavier than air blowing through the PCV valve. Has anybody used this? Have they noticed any improvement in their oil after a change? Why have I never seen anything...

Having done a decent amount of research it makes alot of sense to install a catch can IMO. BUT one glaring issue I cant get over is if there is high amount of water and it freezes during the winter. Seems like a frozen catch can would be even worse than not having one at all. What do you guys think?

Being direct injection engines, SkyActiv's are inherently at risk to carbon deposits on the intake valves. Has anybody installed an oil catch canister, and if so, how much oil has it collected? What are your thoughts on whether it's worth installing? They're cheap so it's more of a time...

So, I have heard all of these things about carbon build up on direct injection engines, there have been some write ups at Miata.net specifically on the 2.0L. So, I have just less than 2000 miles on a 2016 Mazda3 2.5L and decided that I was going to put one in. James Baroner racing.com sold me...

Details: During everyday engine operation, blow-by gases, as well as oil vapor from the engines rotating assembly, pass through the PCV valve and are routed into the intake for the engine to burn off. Before ever making it into the cylinders, some of that oil mist and other contaminates adhere...

I have a 2013 Sky-G with the stock throttle body and "almost" stock air box, and I was going to get an Oil Catch Can to filter the gases going into the rubber connector between the air box and the throttle body. Does anybody have a good location for mounting the Oil Catch Can? Please provide...

I got tired of having to remove the skid plate to access the oil catch can, so I made an access panel to get to it. I simply dremeled out a small piece underneath the OCC and used zip ties to hold it in place once I was done checking the OCC. Two zip ties act as hinges and the third can be cut...

Corksport just released a newly designed oil catch can. As part of the installation, they have you cap off the intake manifold port so it's not used anymore. Can someone who is way smarter than myself explain the reason for this and if there are any pros and cons? Link to instructions below. I...
