  1. Very Nice Look!

    2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Appearance & Interior
Yes, they are the OEM 18" wheels that came on the Touring and Grand Touring trims for the 2018 model year. I have the same wheels.
  2. Mazda says Apple CarPlay support coming soon, including retroactive upgrades

    2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Audio & Electronics
Here is a shortcut that can be used to avoid disassembling the center console for 2017-2018 Mazda3's to remove the old USB hub...
  3. Mazda says Apple CarPlay support coming soon, including retroactive upgrades

    2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Audio & Electronics
True. With just the firmware upgrade, AA/CP does not even show up in menus.
  4. Dash Tweeters for Mazda3

    2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Audio & Electronics
I put in Infinity REF-3022cfx 3.5" Noticably "brightens" the sound.
  5. What Did You Do To Your 2014+ Mazda 3!!

    2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Discussion
Yeah, the dings were only visible when viewed at an angle. Funny, I ALWAYS park my car far away. The dings happened in the garage at home when my 5 year old opens the adjacent car door into it. I did not tell my wife about the repair. She would think I'm crazy to spend that kind of money to...
  6. What Did You Do To Your 2014+ Mazda 3!!

    2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Discussion
I had three small door dings on my rear passenger door removed by a paintless dent removal technician. Can't even tell they were there. Took him only 10 minutes. Quite pricey ($140) but worth it for me.
  7. Gen 3 Mazda 3 Gas Tank Size?

2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Engine and Performance
Around 2 gallons is likely the minimum amount of gas that needs to be in the tank to insure that the fuel pump inlet is always submerged and sucking in gasoline and not air. Any amount less, taking a sharp turn, going over a bump, etc will increase likelihood of gas splashing and sucking in...
  8. What Did You Do To Your 2014+ Mazda 3!!

    2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Discussion
I used dental floss to "saw" through the adhesive backing of the emblems. Then I used Goo Gone (adhesive remover) to clean the leftover adhesive).
  9. Short Shift Kits - JBR or CS?

    2014-2018 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Discussion
I also just installed my JBR short shift plate along with the solid cable mounting bracket bushings on 2018 M3 Touring. JBR's instructions were clear and easy to follow. IMO, the OEM shifter felt ever so slightly "loose" and the throws slightly too long. The JBR shifter mods definately...

    Got mine today also.

Just got an email saying my JBR short shift kit was shipped (finally). Ordered late May.
  12. Handling of 2019 Mazda3 Not Quite as Crisp as Earlier Models?

    2019+ Mazda 3 Discussion
FWIW, here is the Mazda3 program manager, Kouta Beppu, saying that they compromised handling when they changed to a torsion beam... “So, if you were… driving around a circuit, [at a] track day or whatever, and you’re going around a high-G corner, of course, multi-link, in that particular...
  13. Handling of 2019 Mazda3 Not Quite as Crisp as Earlier Models?

    2019+ Mazda 3 Discussion
I wonder if changing to a torsion beam rear suspension from a multi-link design is the reason for the "less sporty" handling.
  14. Added Rear Bumper Scuff Plate

    2019+ Mazda 3 Discussion
Thanks for confirming my observations about the limited protection of the bumper guard.:smile2: The same design "flaw" can be found with the OEM door sill scuff plate where it does not cover the more vulnerable horizontal edge.
  15. Added Rear Bumper Scuff Plate

    2019+ Mazda 3 Discussion
IMO, I don't think that scuff plate offers much protection. The corner edge is still exposed and will most likely be the area that will get scratched. I recommend keeping a thick bath towel in the trunk. Drape it over the bumper whenever you are loading/unloading anything that you think can...
